For those of you that haven’t met our inspiring founder yet, this Q&A will give you some insight as to what she’s like and hoping to achieve for The Eduvation Network (TEN):

When did you start TEN?

The idea and background research to starting TEN began towards the middle of 2014. The company officially started in February 2015.

What motivated you to start TEN?

My main reasons for starting TEN are:

  • To assist in providing time-effective and affordable training solutions for educators and professionals. Training that can be done anytime and anywhere.
  • To make a difference and empower educators to have better knowledge that can be utilised in the classroom.
  • To provide educators with the best possible tools to assist them in shaping future generations.

What is your role, and what has been the most rewarding part of your journey so far?

I am the co-founder and managing director of TEN. I would say I am a ‘jack of all trades’ – from meeting clients, getting schools on board, uploading material and overseeing all decisions and processes that go on within TEN.

The most rewarding part is looking back and seeing how far TEN has come in such a short space of time. From just being an idea on paper, we now have an interactive platform equipped with tools that allow for easy and effective continual development training.

What new courses have you added to the platform recently?

Over the past while we have added a total of five new courses to the platform.

These include:

What has been the most popular course to date?

The most popular course to date is Transforming Education. The likely reasons for this is that the course is worth 40 CPTD points, which is a large number of points in one go, and the content is inspiring, practical and easy to understand so it can be implemented effectively for most, if not all, classrooms.

What’s in the pipeline for TEN for the next 6 months?

TEN is busy with a number of things that should transpire in the next 6 months:

  • Signing on another 3 content providers.
  • We have recently secured a contract to train a large group of 15 000 teachers over October- February 2017.
  • Partnering with two new organisations that also focus on training within education – our aim here is to enhance our overall offering.
  • Finalising an agreement to get regulatory travel courses on board.
